Gas prices are up. The economy is teetering. Unemployment is climbing. We are in an all-out war with Iran. Americans are living through chaos — and the people responsible for that chaos know exactly what is coming in November 2026.
Trump and his Republican enablers in Congress know they will be held accountable at the midterm elections. And they intend to stop that from happening.
The SAVE Act has already passed the House and is now being debated in the Senate. The bill would require every American to produce documentary proof of citizenship in person — a passport or original, certified birth certificate — simply to register to vote. It is being sold as election security. It is voter suppression. And it is aimed directly at women.
Here is what Trump and the Republicans are counting on you not to notice: millions of married women have changed their names. The name on their driver's license — the ID they use for everything — does not match the name on their birth certificate. Under the SAVE Act, that mismatch means they cannot register to vote without producing an original, certified birth certificate.
Do you know what it costs to obtain a certified copy of your birth certificate? Do you know how long it takes? Do you know how many women — especially older women — were born at home and have no birth certificate at all? This is not a minor inconvenience. For tens of millions of women, it is an insurmountable wall, built out of paperwork and placed squarely between them and the ballot box.
Women vote in higher numbers than men. Women were decisive in 2025. Women are organizing — on reproductive freedom, on economic security, on equal rights under the Constitution. Trump and his Republican Senate know what women's votes can do. That is precisely why they want to take those votes away.
And for what? A study of 23.5 million ballots found just 30 suspected cases (!!!!!) of noncitizen voting. 30!. Voting by noncitizens is already illegal. This bill does not solve a problem. It creates one — for millions of eligible American women voters.
The Senate is the last line of defense. We need you to act right now.
Sign our petition — then call the U.S. Capitol Switchboard at (202) 224-3121 and demand that your two Senators vote NO on the SAVE Act. Tell them:
Women fought for over a century for the right to vote. Women were jailed for it. Force-fed for it. Beaten for it. We will not allow a paperwork trap to do what open disenfranchisement no longer can.
Sign the petition. Make the call. Do it today.
